Dear friends,

Please allow me to tell you about an amazing opportunity that I have. In January, Michelle, Hunter, and I will travel to Kampala, Uganda on a mission trip where I will teach at African Bible University. (www.africanbiblecolleges.net)  With permanent missionaries and faculty, the university serves as a primary source of Biblical education for the people of East Africa.  ABU offers 4-year degrees in Biblical Studies, Business, Education and Communications. Graduates often return to their home communities where they plant churches, start schools, and otherwise help meet the needs of their and people villages. They have planted 10 churches in East Africa alone!

I will teach a one-week intensive course focusing on the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms. Michelle and our son, Hunter, will accompany me. Michelle will visit a medical ministry called H3 - Heads, Hearts, and Hands (www.headsheartsandhands.org) – a College Station based ministry which serves Kampala in many ways including using medical clinics to share the Gospel. As you may know, Michelle has a heart for medical missions and will explore opportunities to return with medical teams in the future. During this trip, she also will teach Tim’s newly released book, “Ruth: A Story of God’s Redeeming Love,” to families of the missionaries and students. Hunter is excited for the chance to explore missions and help in any way he can. There is no shortage of opportunities to serve!

Jesus commanded us to go into the world and spread the gospel (Matt 28:18-20), but not everyone is able to go. How can you partner with us in this adventure? First, please pray for us – that God would use our talents and service for the good of the people and to bring the light of the Gospel into their lives. Also pray that God would give Michelle insight and wisdom for future medical trips to Uganda. Pray for Hunter, as he willingly gives his time to minister to the university students. We have seen how missions like this can change people for the rest of their lives and we rejoice for how God will use Hunter. We will leave January 9, 2024 and return January 22, 2024. My intensive course is scheduled for January 15-19.

Additionally, you can financially support our trip. Our needs for food and lodging will be met while we are there but need help with airfare and other related expenses. Tax-deductible gifts can be given through our church and will be used solely to support Ugandan missions.

Michelle will keep a daily blog which we will post and share links to every day of our trip, so you may share in the amazing work that God will do and to help guide your prayers.

Thank you for taking to time to read this. We thank God for friends such as you that we can share this experience with!
